HOUSATONIC RODSRIVER REPORTS
FLOW RATE and RESOURCE LINKS
IMPORTANT WARNING*
The Housatonic Upper TMA is now running at "NATURAL FLOW". This does not mean NGG power plant will not occasionally release from Falls Village. Stay aware of changes in flow while wading. Rising water is dangerous - take precautions not to get caught during a change in flow without a way to exit the river quickly and safely. Most of the water flow rates represented here were provided by Northeast Generation Company* and none are absolute or final; flows are always subject to their (NGC's) revision at any time as well as other variables such as runoff, precipitation, and other factors etc. Actual flows may not be what is represented here. Remember - changes in flow at the Falls Village powwer plant will usually affect the upper TMA within about 3 hours - and will reach the lower portion of the TMA within about 4 hours.
NOTE: Due to the confluence of tributaries below Falls Village actual flows are sometimes higher and water temps in the TMA can be a few degrees cooler during a good flow. For the purpose of preventing harm to catch & released trout during warm weather, always take a local temperature reading. When AM water temps are above 73ºF- most TMA areas will be too hot for catch & release trout fishing. Please take a local water temp before targeting trout, thanks.
